Mobile and stationary security applications
An uninterruptible, off-grid power supply for stationary critical infrastructure monitoring applications is often a challenge. These include off-grid video surveillance systems for construction sites, railroad crossings, wildlife monitoring, and monitoring and securing public places and crowds.
For an event with over 300,000 spectators, temporary CCTV surveillance was required in the immediate vicinity of an arena, covering a total of five square kilometres. The goal was a self-sufficient video surveillance to be able to monitor the event better. The video surveillance system was set up by our partner ONEBERRY on a turnkey basis. Multiple entrances to the event site presented a particular complexity and challenge in setting up a surveillance structure. A continuous flow analysis was set up to manage the flow of people in and out of the event. The scale of the event required real-time recording of traffic flow around the event, as well as real-time recording of vehicle data. Another requirement was open platform integration to support video analytics such as facial recognition, license plate recognition, and event-based location.
A total of 200 cameras were installed, of which more than 25% were integrated into energy-autonomous units. The crucial problem of off-grid power supply was solved by using EFOY Pro fuel cells. Blind spots were also made visible through seamless monitoring. The fuel cell recharges the batteries fully automatically and, in combination with two M10 fuel cartridges, provides reliable power for 16 days.
EFOY Pro fuel cells provide mobile off-grid energy around the clock. Real-time monitoring without any interruption is guaranteed. It is imperative that the monitoring systems operate autonomously and independently. Even in bad weather, where the power of a solar system is not enough. Generators cause not only harmful emissions but also a high noise level.
Since 2010, more than 600 EFOY Pros have been deployed for over 5,000 installations to provide power for surveillance systems in Singapore. Each application offers absolute reliability and maximum autonomy.
