Sunfire-Remote receives the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label

Neubrandenburg, Germany, 31st January 2022

Sunfire Fuel Cell’s award winning off-grid power generator now belongs to the global 1000+ profitable solutions to protect the environment.

Sunfire-Remote was designed to replace diesel generators. That approach, in particular, convinced the Solar Impulse Foundation’s independent experts: “The use of diesel generators as power generators is currently commonplace. However, this is not preferred due to their harmful emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. The solution’s power generators are a potential preferred replacement of diesel generators due to their reduced emissions”, said the expert justification.

Fueled with commercial propane (LPG), Sunfire-Remote reduces carbon dioxide emissions of conventional technology by 75 %. Running on BioLPG, the fuel cell power generator even saves 97.6 % CO2, compared to standard generators. Moreover, all other polluting emissions related to diesel combustion are also avoided.

In their evaluation, the Solar Impulse Foundation jury has not only considered environmental aspects.  Based on existing installations of Sunfire-Remote in various applications (e.g., telecommunication, security, or oil & gas industry), the experts have also checked the fuel cell device for feasibility. In addition, the profitability section examined that integration of the power generator leads to an economic incentive for clients as well as profits for the seller in a short term. Sunfire-Remote was convincing in all points.

In the cleantech industry, the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label is a recognized certification. All labelled solutions are part of the #1000solutions portfolio that will be presented to decision-makers in business and government by Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of the foundation. The aim of his initiative is to encourage the adoption of more ambitious environmental targets and fast-track the implementation of these solutions on a large scale.

About the Solar Impulse Foundation
The Solar Impulse Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the implementation of clean and profitable solutions. Moreover, the Foundation is helping decision-makers in businesses and governments to achieve their environmental targets and adopt more ambitious energy policies, which are necessary to pull these solutions to market. Its Chairman, Bertrand Piccard, was the first man to fly around the world in a balloon and in a solar powered airplane. With his involvement in the Solar Impulse Foundation, he is working to carry that success further.
